Need I say more? A good day for “no words”…..and so, as another day goes by, spent with my sis and her hubby on Ft Walton Beach, and….I have written.

Day 4 – Shopping Bliss!

Day four was just for my sis and I. We ventured to Destin Commons and had a great time. Bought shoes and souvenirs for the kids, had a great lunch, and navigated our way to and from the island without mishap. When we came home, we had a quiet time out at the pool and . . . → Read More: Day 4 – Shopping Bliss!

Peace! Day 3…

Just a quiet, peaceful day by the pool, a little walk around the neighborhood, dinner with friends and family…just an idyllic vacation day!

And so, as another day goes by, I finally found that “space between two thoughts”, and….I have written.

The Great Florida Adventure -Day 1

Day one started out at 3 am. Up and waiting for my sister and her husband to arrive at 5am to pick up Dad and me and head to Albany airport to begin our week long adventure to visit my aunt in Ft Walton Beach Florida. When they arrived it was eerily dark outside, 30 . . . → Read More: The Great Florida Adventure -Day 1

Voids

In referencing yesterday’s blog where I told about my discovery of a huge void in my grade school experience, in yoga, after writing the blog, I had a revelation. It seems, when the job coach had asked me to think of my earliest proud moments, I only looked within my school life. It still bothered . . . → Read More: Voids

Sometimes You Just Gotta Fly…

My sister and her husband are taking my dad on a trip to Florida in a couple weeks so he can see his sister. Though they planned this trip months ago, it just dawned on me yesterday – how come I’m not going with them? Before I retired, I often thought how great it’s going . . . → Read More: Sometimes You Just Gotta Fly…

World Peace – Why Not?

When I taught kindergarten, and I saw one child hit another I’d go over and ask why he/she hit the other child. Inevitably the answer was always “he/she hit me first”. I ask both children to apologize, but to the one who was hit first, an injustice is done and the child needs to learn . . . → Read More: World Peace – Why Not?

Tuning the Five String Harp

I learned an Irish phrase “tuning the five string harp” when I read “Listening Beneath the Noise”, by Anne LeClaire. It means “opening the five senses and bringing them into alignment so they work in consonance”. In the book the author remarks that tuning the senses is much like tuning any instrument. It takes time . . . → Read More: Tuning the Five String Harp

Social Networking

I have a friend who put the most intelligent statement I have ever read on Facebook. She said, “When I was a kid social networking meant go outside and play!”

She posted that awhile ago, but her wise words have stuck with me ever since. This is not only true for children, but us . . . → Read More: Social Networking
